Info on Tai Chi classes in Reading and Thatcham

More Tai Chi

New classes in Thatcham and Reading

Tai Chi, as a gentle means of exercise, is immensely popular with older people, men and women. Our youngest member so far has been 57, the oldest 98. Not only does it provide an opportunity for you to improve your balance, and so prevent falls, for many it also turns into a welcome social occasion. You can do the exercises seated, as many do, and progress at your own pace, confident that you are in the hands of a trained instructor. Bring along a friend.

Tai Chi sessions (which normally cost £2) are held at:

· St. Barnabas Church Hall, Grove Rd, Emmer Green (Reading)
Wednesdays 9.45, 10.45 & 11.45
· South Reading Youth & Community Centre, Northumberland Ave
Wednesdays 1.30-3.30pm
· Thatcham Parish Hall, Thursdays 2-4pm (in conjunction with Age Concern, Thatcham)
· Ranikhet School (Dee Park, Reading) Fridays 9.45-10.45 & 11.15-12
· Milman Road Health Centre (Reading) Fridays 2-4pm

Message from Eileen re. remedial yoga

Hi All

Remedial Yoga - Fridays NEW TIME 14.00 – 15.00
St Mary's Church Hall, Church close, Winnersh

Pay as you come £2.50 per class as subsidised due to funding from Waitrose Community Matters

Recommence after Easter Fri 24th Apr. with no class on halfterm May 29th. End of term: July 3rd

We have been in contact with Fiona Agombar , author of Beat Fatigue with Yoga. She's a yoga teacher who has had M.E, and specialises in very gentle classes for ME groups. She's based in London, and she's keen to travel to local groups who might be interested in a yoga class tailored to their particular energy levels.

Her reply:-

"I could come a do half a day workshop, if you felt that wasn't too much for people with ME. I would put lots of relaxation in so that people can rest - and maybe also do a short talk on yoga followed by a gentle practise
Otherwise I could come for a couple of hours, if you thought that would be better. I usually charge about £50 an hour plus travel, but we could maybe negotiate if I was doing more than two hours...

I am going away to India for six weeks soon so anytime after June would be better.

I hope this is helpful and that we can do something together"

Please contact me if interested in trying the class or visit from Fiona

Best Wishes
Eileen
